Wirecard cooperates with Scandinavian Payment Provider DIBS

The cooperative venture comprises both credit card acceptance services by Wirecard Bank AG and mutual offers of local payment and risk management solutions for business customers of both partners.

Grasbrunn, near Munich, June 9, 2009; The Swedish company DIBS Payment Services AB and Wirecard AG have entered into a partnership. DIBS is one of the leading payment services providers in Scandinavia, headquartered in Stockholm and has branches in Denmark and Norway. The cooperative venture comprises both credit card acceptance services by Wirecard Bank AG and mutual offers of local payment and risk management solutions for business customers of both partners.

The integration of Wirecard Bank AG as an acquiring partner at DIBS has been concluded. The initial merchant links for credit card acceptance activities via Wirecard Bank are already in place.

Both parties stand to benefit from this cooperative venture. The local competence of the payment service provider on site combined with international acquiring services of Wirecard Bank and its multi-currency capabilities for payouts provides a compelling solution for mutual merchants.

"In future the business customers of both partners will be able to expand their activities in cross-border trade more conveniently. The various local northern European payment methods mean that our merchants will have an extended product range available to them with immediate effect", says Michael Santner, Partner Manager at Wirecard AG.

To be able to process consumer payments made by credit card, an online merchant needs an acceptance agreement with a so-called acquiring bank that has the necessary licenses from the credit card institutions. A unique selling point of Wirecard Bank is its multi-currency capability when it comes to payouts to online merchants, which extends to the key international currencies - including those of the Scandinavian countries. This advantage is enhanced by a large number of supplementary services in the field of foreign payments and currency management systems.

In recent months, Wirecard AG has enlarged its partner program even further. Wirecard's partner portal ensures that associated services providers and resellers receive professional support in connection with the products and solutions of the Wirecard Group.
